Uploading Medical Scans to 3DICOM

How to Upload a Scan

Medical scans can be uploaded via the 3DICOM Viewer Dashboard using the Upload Scan Button or the drag-and-drop area options.

purple icon1. Log in to your 3DICOM account at my.3dicomviewer.com

purple icon2. Click ‘Upload Scan’ to open your computer’s file browser.
purple icon3. Find and select the folder containing your medical imaging files.

purple icon4. After the system identifies the selected files, you will see a list of available DICOM series.

blue info iconSome folders selected can contain multiple series, while others have only one. By default, 3DICOM recommends the series with the highest number of images, as these typically offer better resolution for 3D rendering.

purple icon7. In the Storage section, select your preferred storage option, and hit ‘Next’.

purple icon8. In the Upload section, check the box if you would like to open the scan in the Viewer immediately after the upload process completes.

green check circle success iconAfter uploading, your scan will open in the 3DICOM Viewer (if selected), or appear in the Recent Activity table once the page is refreshed.

Locating your Scans after Upload

After uploading a scan to 3DICOM, you can access it directly from the dashboard under the Recent Activity table or via the Scans/Records tab.

On the Dashboard

purple icon2. Once there, your newly uploaded scan will appear at the top of the list.

purple icon3. Click the arrow next to your most recently uploaded scan to open it in a new tab within the Online Viewer.

Can I upload multiple scans at once?

No, you can only upload one scan at a time. However, if you have multiple scans from the same series, you can upload each one separately by repeating the upload process.
