Sharing allows you to grant another person secure access to a copy of your scan stored in 3DICOM’s cloud. The scan itself is not sent by email — instead, the recipient’s 3DICOM account is authorized to view it.
Scans that belong to other users, that have been shared with you, will not have the Sharing option.
You can share scans with anyone, e.g., healthcare providers, family members, or colleagues. Anyone who has a 3DICOM account (or who creates one).
Yes. If they don’t already have an account, they’ll be prompted to create one before they can access the scan.
Yes. If the recipient also uses 3DICOM, you can share a copy of your scan with them, and it will appear in thier account. They will be able to interact with the scan in 2D and 3D views on thier own account or device just as you can, without impacting the original scan on your account.
Yes. Your scans always remain on 3DICOM’s secure servers. When you share a scan, the recipient is granted access to a copy of your scan through their verified account. And the shared copy is view-only, meaning it cannot be downloaded or re-shared by the recipient.

Yes, an internet connection is required since scans are accessed and shared from your 3DCIOM account in the cloud.
No. Currently, only the whole scan/dataset can be shared. There is no capability (within the app) to capture and share a specific screenshot, slice, or short video clip of the scan. You can do this manually using your device’s screenshot/recording capabilities, but please keep in mind that any sharing outside of the app will not be secure.
