This guide will walk you through how to set up Secondary Authentication on 3DICOM Mobile to add an extra layer of security when using the 3DICOM app on your mobile device.

What is Secondary Authentication?

Secondary authentication on 3DICOM Mobile offers an optional additional layer of security.

It prompts you to log in using biometrics (fingerprint, face ID) or a 4-digit PIN if the app has been minimized for more than 2 minutes.

This helps protect your scans and personal data by ensuring that only you can re-access the app, even if someone else is using your unlocked device.

Steps to Enable Authentication

Steps to get there:

1. Open 3DICOM Mobile and log in to your account.

2. Tap the Menu icon (☰) to navigate to Settings.

3. Select ‘Turn on Authentication’ to bring up the Authentication options.

4. Choose your preferred authentication method:

Biometry PIN

Biometric Authentication

(Face ID or Fingerprint, if your device supports it).

5. Select the Biometry option to confirm your choice.

6. Tap the ‘Setup Authentication’ button.

7. Follow any additional prompts on your device to complete the setup.

Secondary authentication is now active.

The app will now request your PIN or biometric login if it has been minimized and idle on your device for more than 2 minutes.

PIN Authentication

(set up a 4-digit PIN code).

5. Select the PIN option to confirm your choice.

6. Tap the ‘Setup Authentication’ button.

7. Type in your four digit PIN.

8. Follow any additional prompts on your device to complete the setup.

Secondary authentication is now active.

The app will now request your PIN or biometric login if it has been minimized and idle on your device for more than 2 minutes.

How to Disable Authentication Options

Disabling your secondary authentication option on 3DCIOM Mobile is just as simple as enabling it.

3. Select ‘Disable Biometric Login’.

4. Follow any additional prompts on your device to complete the process.

2. Tap the Menu icon (☰) to navigate to Settings.

3. Select ‘Disable PIN Login’.

4. Follow any additional prompts on your device to complete the process.

Secondary authentication is now active.

The app will no longer request your PIN or biometric login if it has been minimized and idle on your device for more than 2 minutes.
