Downloading Scans in 3DICOM

Save a Copy of Your Medical Scans

Secure storage and improved access to medical imaging are central to 3DICOM’s design. While all imaging data uploaded to 3DICOM is stored securely and in compliance with medical data standards by default, 3DICOM also provides the added flexibility to download a local copy when needed. This short guide shows you how to save a copy of your scan to your device by downloading it as a compressed .zip file.

Scans can be downloaded from two areas in the 3DICOM platform. From the Scans/Records page or via an open scan in the 3DICOM Viewer.

Instructions on how to download a scan from both locations are provided below.

CONCLUSION

Saving DICOM scans to your device helps you maintain a secure backup of your medical records, separate from the cloud. While downloaded scans cannot be opened offline, having a local backup ensures you always retain access to your data and can easily re-upload or share it when needed.
